Game viewing
Our aim is to rehabilitate the land by introducing indigenous game and Nguni cattle. We run a herd of about 600 Nguni. Kudu, Mountain and Vaal Rhebok have always been here. Black Wildebeest, Plain Zebra, Springbok and Eland have been introduced.
Small mammals like Steenbok, Ground Squirrels, Rabbits and Baboons can be seen on a daily basis. The African Wild Cat, Aardwolf, Anteater, Porcupine, Bat Eared Fox and Cape Hare have all been sighted, but being nocturnal they are not easily spotted during the day.
110 bird species have been counted and there has been an exciting development in the return of the Blue Crane. Secretary birds, Black Eagles, Grey Wing Francolin, Crested Guineafowl and Raptors are a few of the favourites. Recently there have been sightings of the Cape Vulture as well.
